„We harvested the grapes for the Dornfelder 2025 on 22 September; they were beautifully healthy and ripe. Right from the start of fermentation, our aim was to emphasise its distinctive fruitiness, so we actively worked with the wine and aerated it regularly throughout the fermentation process.
After pressing, we allowed malolactic fermentation to take place, which softened and rounded out the wine. The Dornfelder then matured for nine months in a large 52 hl oak cask. Thanks to the size of the cask, the oak remained only a subtle accompaniment – the wine gained greater depth and velvety texture, whilst retaining, above all, its beautifully pure fruity character.
The result is one of the most beautiful and fruit-forward Dornfelders we have produced to date. It is completely dry, juicy and velvety, with pronounced dark fruit and a subtle chocolate note on the finish.“
